Six Eagles score in defeat at Hamline

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Edgewood University women's lacrosse team closed out their Minnesota trip at Hamline University on Sunday. The Eagles fell to the Pipers 19-11 in non-conference action. Despite scoring in all four quarters, the Eagles couldn't slow down the Pipers fast paced attack.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hamline University (4-0) opened Sunday's non-conference contest with four-straight goals. Kailey Smith netted her first goal as an Eagle with 2:01 left in the quarter, assisted by Kerry Costello. With just 11 seconds remaining in the quarter, Costello found the back of the net herself. After the first 15 minutes, Edgewood University (1-4) trailed by three goals (5-2).

- The Pipers continued to roll in the second quarter, scoring six goals to take a 11-5 advantage into halftime. Milli Shell and Malak Daoud each scored in the second quarter. The Eagles three goals weren't enough to dent the Pipers confident first half attack.

- The Eagles slowed the Pipers attack in the second half, but it was too little too late. Daoud, and Lauryn Brown combined for three Eagle goals in the third quarter. Paige Janicki, Shell, and Brown each found the back of the net in the final quarter for the Eagles.

- In what proved to be the most complete game of the season for Edgewood University scored in every quarter and significantly reduced their turnovers from previous non-conference contests. The Eagle struggled in transition, only going 4-for-9 on the clear.
