LA CROSSE, Wis.- The Edgewood University women's lacrosse team fell at UW-La Crosse on Wednesday. In the battle of the Wisconsin Eagles, UW-La Crosse took home the 17-4 victory. The non-conference foe built a 13-1 advantage at halftime, before tacking on four goals in the final two quarters.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UW-La Crosse (4-0) scored seven goals in the first quarter on Wednesday. Christina Eloe netted a player-up goal with 9:53 left in the quarter. Despite trailing UW-La Crosse 2-1, Edgewood University (1-5) couldn't hold off the home Eagles attack.
- UW-La Crosse held Edgewood University to no goals in the second quarter and tacked on six to take a 13-1 lead at halftime.
- Eloe found the back of the net twice in the third quarter, coming at the 8:12 and 3:31 mark.
- Kerry Costello scored the final goal for Edgewood University in the fourth quarter.
- UW-La Crosse was nearly perfect on the clear on Wednesday, going 12-for-13 in transition. Edgewood University struggled, going 8-for-20 at the mark.
