ROCKFORD, Ill. – Men's Volleyball hit the road Saturday to continue NACC action. They battled with the Rockford Regents. The Eagles (5-10, 2-4 NACC) earned a commanding 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-20) sweep of the Regents (1-16, 0-6).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- While Rockford led 6-5 early, Edgewood University dominated with a 15-2 barrage to all but put away the opening frame. The Eagles hit .364 in the 25-12 opening salvo.
- The Regents started out the second set strong with a 7-3 edge. Down 13-9, Edgewood University replied with 10 unanswered as smothering defense worked in tandem with steady offense. The Eagles put any doubts of the set to bed with three-straight points to build a 23-16 lead.
- Edgewood University kept momentum rolling into the third set, building a 11-7 lead. Rockford bounced back with a 7-2 stretch to claim a one-point edge. The squads jockeyed for position as they traded kills, but three kills in a row from the Eagles pulled them ahead 18-16. The Edgewood University defense stepped up late, anchoring a 4-0 run for a 23-18 advantage as the Eagles earned a sweep.
- Edgewood University won the hitting battle .380-to-.131. They had 5-to-1 edges in aces and blocks.

Cade Schueller paced the Eagles with 12 kills on 21 attempts, recording a .571 hitting percentage.
- Nine Eagles posted at least one kill.

Oakley Griggs earned three aces while
Owen Hartjes tallied three blocks.

Bryce Wrobel shined at setter with 27 assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Schueller's .571 hitting percentage was his personal best and second among all qualifying individual matches (min. 20 attempts)
- Wrobel's 27 assists were a new best for the setter.

Edgewood University will return home for their first of back-to-back NACC home matches Tuesday. They'll take on the St. Norbert Green Knights at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
