MADISON, Wis. Men's Volleyball opened up their home back-to-back at the Todd Wehr Edgedome Tuesday evening. They took on the St. Norbert Green Knights in a key NACC matchup. The Eagles (6-10, 3-4 NACC) fended off three match points from the Green Knights (8-10, 2-5) in a fifth set thriller to claim a 3-2 (25-18, 21-25, 25-23, 17-25, 19-17) victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trialing 4-3 early, Edgewood University took off like a shot on a 9-2 explosion and never looked back. The Eagles hit .560 in the opening frame with 16 kills and just a pair of attack errors.

- While St. Norbert opened the second frame ahead 4-1, Edgewood University seemed to find their stride once more with a 10-2 explosion. A 6-2 answer from the Green Knights pulled the visitors within one as the teams grappled with the frame. St. Norbert found momentum late with a 9-2 burst, all but evening the match 1-1.

- Neither team led by more than two in a tense third set. The Eagles defense stepped up, putting together three in a row late for a key 21-18 edge. While the Green Knights would claw back within one, the Edgewood University defense stepped up once more to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

- While the Eagles build up an early 8-6 advantage, St. Norbert took control of the fourth frame with an 8-2 burst punctuated by three straight aces. Three unanswered would put the Green Knights lead to eight as they forced a fifth set.

- In a fifth set that saw 11 tied scores and three lead changes, Edgewood University found themselves on the back foot late. Down 14-12, a 4-1 rally from the Eagles forced extra points and pushed them to match point. St. Norbert would hold off a pair of match points, but back-to-back points from Edgewood University completed the comeback for the victory.

- While the Green Knights had a 12-to-8 edge in blocks and a 6-to-3 advantage in aces, the Eagles offense shined with a 65-to-59 gap in kills.

- Five Edgewood University hitters posted eight or more kills.
Ethan Hoffert played a pivotal role on offense and defense with 55 assists and 12 digs.

Owen Hartjes tallied nine and eight kills respectively. Voigt also paced the Eagles with four blocks.
