VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood University women's lacrosse team fell to UW-River Falls on Wednesday evening. The Falcons earned a 20-2 non-conference victory over the Eagles. UW-River Falls was consistent, scoring 11 goals before halftime on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UW-River Falls (2-2) scored seven goals in the first quarter on Wednesday. Lauryn Brown scored the Eagles only goal of the first half, coming with 9:49 on the clock. Brown's goal was assisted by Kerry Costello.
- The Falcons led Edgewood University (1-2) 11-1 through the first 30 minutes.
- UW-River Falls continued to turn on the jets, scoring six goals in the third quarter and hold the Eagles scoreless in the quarter.
- Kamryn Ibinger scored the Eagles second goal of the game with just 4:05 left in the contest. Christina Eloe assisted on Ibinger's second goal of her career.
- The Falcons were almost perfect on clears on Wednesday, going 16-for-19. Edgewood University struggled in transition, only successfully clearing 10-of-28.
- Eloe led the Eagles at the draw control with four. The senior added three caused turnovers and four ground balls.
- Bella Braun posted nine saves in net for the Eagles.
THE OPPOSITION
- Elizabeth Clough led the Falcons with five goals.
- Samantha Hayek posted four goals and three assists.
- Rebecca Gill and Morgan Leick each collected four draw controls.
- The Falcons totaled 24 caused turnovers. Lilah Gilyard, Avery Watzke, and Cassie Johnson each caused four turnovers.
- Annelise Rommeck and Abby Hammond both saw time in net for UW-River Falls.
