VERONA, Wis. – 14 goals, nine coming in the first half was all the Edgewood University women's lacrosse team needed to remain undefeated in conference play on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles took down Lawrence University 14-2 to claim their second conference win of the season. Eight different Eagles contributed to the scoring effort on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood University (3-7, 2-0 NACC) took advantage of a strong offensive start on Saturday, scoring five goals in the first quarter. Kailey Smith got the Eagles offense going, scoring in the first minute. Christina Eloe and Milli Shell joined the party to put the Eagles up 4-0 through the first eight minutes. Lawrence University (0-6, 0-1 NACC) scored their only two goals of the day in the first quarter. Paige Janicki gave the Eagles a 5-2 advantage through the first 15 minutes.
- The Eagles went on to score nine unanswered goals in the conference contest. Kerry Costello scored the Eagles sixth goal in the second quarter. Clare Allison netted the first goal of her career with 8:19 left on the clock before halftime. Edgewood University took a 9-2 advantage into halftime.
- The Eagles came out of the break to score twice in the third quarter. With 8:03 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Eagles took a hold of the game, scoring their 12th goal and forcing a running clock on the Vikings. Ashlynn Coleman scored the Eagles final goal with 3:37 left in regulation.
- Edgewood University led the Vikings 30-12 in shots on Saturday. The Eagles defense only allowing three shots on goal in the final two quarters.
- Lawrence struggled on the clear, going 5-for-28, while the Eagles went 8-for-12.
TOP PERFORMERS
- Eloe scored three goals and dished out two assists. The senior added three caused turnovers, five ground balls and two draw controls.
- Shell posted three goals for the Eagles and collected six draw controls.
- Allison and Janicki both scored twice.
- Kailey Smith caused three turnovers.
- Bella Braun collected the win in net, making three saves.

- Edgewood University leads the all-time series versus Lawrence University 2-0. The Eagles and Vikings first met in 2025.
- Eloe collected her 200th career ground ball on Saturday.
