CHICAGO, Ill. – Men's Volleyball returned to NACC action Saturday down in Illinois. They took on the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks in a pivotal conference match. The Eagles (8-12, 5-4 NACC) left little room for doubt in an impressive 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-12) victory over the Scarlet Hawks (6-14, 4-5).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The early goings were a tense back and forth affair with neither squad giving an inch. Up 15-14, Edgewood University grabbed momentum on a 6-2 burst as Illinois Tech struggled to muster a response.
- The Eagles offense dominated in a 9-2 run to kick off the second frame, After trailing for the early going, the Scarlet Hawks struck back with an 8-2 explosion to take a 16-15 lead. A balanced effort flipped the script for Edgewood University, five unanswered propelling them ahead 23-19 late on route to a 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Eagles cruised to a sweep in set three, kicking things off ahead 12-2 and never looking back, Edgewood University would build up to a 13-point lead in the set, outhitting Illinois Tech .688-to-.048 and recording no attack errors.
- The Eagles recorded only five attack errors and hit .397 in the fast-paced affair.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Schueller's .591 hitting percentage was the second-most in a single match in program history (minimum 20 attempts).
- With his three blocks, Hartjes became the first Edgewood University player to cross 200 career blocks.
- Edgewood University has won back-to-back matches against the Scarlet Hawks.
