ORANGE, Calif. – The Edgewood University women's lacrosse team rounded out their spring break trip in California at Chapman University on Tuesday. The Eagles fell to the Panthers 17-0 in non-conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chapman (4-3) dominated the attack on Tuesday, scoring four or more goals in three quarters. The Panthers opened the contest with six goals in the first quarter.
- The Panthers tacked on five goals in the second quarter to take an 11 goal lead into halftime.
- After the break, Chapman scored four goals in the third quarter an two in the fourth quarter.
- The Eagles posted three shots on Tuesday. Kerry Costello led the Eagles with two shots, while Milli Shell posted one shot on goal.
- Shell added two draw controls for the Eagles.
- Christina Eloe caused a team-high three turnovers and collected three ground balls.
- Edgewood University struggled on the clear, going 6-for-22 in transition.
THE OPPOSITION
- 10 different Panthers scored in the non-conference battle. Madi Escobar, Tade Scheid, Presley Pewitt, Ava Regan and Kelsey Shaffer each scored twice.
- Zoey Stephens posted a game-high three assists.
- Escobar and Tade Scheid each collected five draw controls.
- Stephens added four caused turnovers.
- Madelyn Kuhnlein and Ilana Touger split time in net for the Panthers. Kuhnlein recorded one save on the afternoon.
