Eagles split two in third day at THE Spring Games

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Edgewood University softball team continued play in Florida Tuesday. The Eagles battled with Keuka College and Bates College. Edgewood University opened a cold morning with a 14-8 win over Keuka. Bates took a 3-1 win in a game that featured three home runs.

EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 14, KEUKA COLLEGE 8
- A nine run sixth inning highlighted a 14-8 win on Tuesday morning for Edgewood University (5-6). In a game that featured 32 hits, the Eagles scored first. Keuka (1-3) posted two runs in the bottom of the first frame to take a 2-1 lead. Edgewood University tied the game in the top of the third inning thanks to an RBI single from Grace Dooley. The Wolves, again, responded with two goals to take a 4-2 lead through three innings.

- Heading into the top of the sixth inning, Keuka led the Eagles 8-4. Edgewood University racked up nine runs to take the lead. A pair of RBI singles from Gracie Halfman and Abilina Dubree gave Edgewood University six runs. Lily Mabs stepped up to the plate and posted a three-run blast to give the Eagles a 9-8 lead. The Eagles would score four more runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to solidify the victory.

- Mabs went 3-for-5, scoring a run and adding five RBI. Halfman, Dubree, Dooley and Erica Johnson each posted three hits on Saturday morning.

- Hailie Boardman claimed the win in the circle, pitching 4.1 innings and scattering six hits.

BATES COLLEGE 3, EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 1
- Bates College (3-2) scored first on Tuesday. Zariya Anderson blasted a solo home run to center field. Mabs responded in the bottom of the fourth frame with her own home run to left center to tie the contest at one run apiece.

- The Bobcats broke the game open with a two-run home run to left center in the top of the sixth frame.

- MacKenzie Miller went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Eagles. Dubree roped a double.

- Prigge pitched six innings for the Eagles, striking out four batters.

- Isabella Albro earned the start in the circle for the Bobcats. Albro struck out four batters.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood University will face Ursinus College and University of Southern Maine on Wednesday. Action will begin at 10:00 a.m. from Kissimmee, Florida.
