ANGOLA, Ind. – The Edgewood University men's lacrosse team opened spring break 2026 at Trine University. The Eagles fell at the Thunder, 11-3 in non-conference action. Logan Searles was a force in net for the Eagles, making a season-best 21 saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trine (7-1) was a consistent force on Saturday afternoon, scoring in each quarter. The Thunder opened the first quarter with three-straight goals. James Borgardt scored the Eagles only goal of the first 15 minute in the final second.
- Borgardt netted his second goal with just 1:46 left before halftime. The Thunder scored a game-high five goals in the second quarter and took an 8-2 advantage into halftime.
- The Thunder held the Eagles off the scoreboard in the third quarter. With just 15 minutes remaining, Trine owned a 10-2 lead.
- Zach Thomas scored with 10:35 left on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter.
- Searles averaged 5.25 saves per quarter on Saturday. In the second quarter, Searles posted a game-high seven saves.
- Trine led Edgewood University (0-4) in face offs on Saturday, 12-5.
TOP PERFORMERS
- Borgardt led the Eagles with two goals.
- Hanrahan and Neville each caused three turnovers.
- Neville picked up six ground balls.
- Searles collected a season-best 21 saves in net.
