MADISON, WIS. – Women's Tennis kicked off their 2026 portion of their schedule Saturday. They faced off with the Northwestern (MN) Eagles and the Loras Duhawks. Edgewood University (11-3) kicked things off with a 7-0 sweep of Northwestern (MN). In the nightcap, the hosts took down the Duhawks (6-6) 4-3.
MATCH ONE: EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 7, NORTHWESTERN (MN) 0
- Edgewood University found smooth sailing in doubles.
Evelyn Taylor and
Hattie Plenty rolled to a 6-1 victory in top doubles, while
Kaitlyn Narkis and
Christina Ekkela claimed a 6-0 final in the third slot.

Sophia Perret and
Lauryn Krober posted a 6-3 final in no. 2 doubles.
- Edgewood University kept rolling in singles. Taylor posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory in top billing, while Plenty won 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) in the second slot.
- Perret posted a 6-2, 6-3 result in the third slot. Narkis followed up with a 7-5, 6-3 final in no. 4 singles.
- Ekkela and Krober put a bow on the sweep in impressive fashion, winning 6-2, 6-2 in no. 5 singles and 6-1, 6-0 in no. 6 singles respectively.
MATCH TWO: EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 4, LORAS 3
- Edgewood University rolled into their second match of the day. Plenty/Taylor earned a 6-0 sweep in top billing, while Ekkela/Narkis nabbed a 6-1 final in the third slot.
- Krober/Perret won 6-3 in the second slot.
- Edgewood University clinched the match quickly in singles. Narkis won 6-0, 6-1 in the fourth slot before Perret followed up with a 6-2, 6-1 final in third billing.
- Plenty clinched the victory with a 6-2, 6-1 result in the second slot.
- After Krober conceded a 7-5, 6-1 final in the sixth slot, Taylor fell in a 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-3) heartbreaker in the first slot.
- Ekkela battled to the bitter end in fifth singles. She lost 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (14-12) to wrap up the night.

- Edgewood University has won four of their last five matches.
