MADISON, Wis. – Men's Tennis kicked off their 2026 portion of their slate Saturday with nonconference action. They took on the Northwestern (MN) Eagles and the Loras Duhawks. Edgewood University (2-4) conceded a 5-2 final to Northwestern (MN) (1-2), before falling in 6-1 fashion to the Duhawks (2-1).
MATCH ONE: NORTHWESTERN (MN) 5, EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 2
- The visitors kicked things off on the right foot with the doubles point.
Ryder Broadbridge and
Marek Woytasik fell 6-3 in top doubles, while
Andrew Hoffmann and
Ryan Casey fell by an identical margin in third billing.

Jon Olafsson and
Justin Hutchcroft battled in a thriller in the second slot, conceding a 7-6 (7-5) final.
- In singles, Broadbridge bounced back with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the top slot. Casey performed well in the sixth slot with a 7-5, 6-2 final.
- Olafsson conceded a 6-1, 7-5 result in the second slot, while Hutchcroft was defeated by a 7-5, 6-3 margin in third billing.
- After Woytasik was downed 6-2, 6-0 in the fourth slot, Hoffmann came up just shy of a comeback in the fifth slot. He lost 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-7).
MATCH TWO LORAS 6, EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 1
- The Duhawks started off strong in doubles. Broadbridge/Woytasik fell 6-4 in top billing, while Hoffmann/Casey conceded a 6-3 final in no. 3 doubles.
- Olafsson/Hutchcroft dropped a 6-1 tilt in second billing
- Broadbridge continued his strong singles play with a thrilling 1-6, 7-6 (11-9), 1-0 (10-5) comeback in no. 1 singles. Olafsson fell 6-3, 6-4 in the second slot.
- Hutchcroft fell 6-2, 6-1 in third billing. Woytasik dropped a 6-0, 6-1 result in no. 4 singles.
- Hoffman lost 6-1, 6-1 in the fifth slot, while Casey wrapped up the night with a 6-0, 6-4 defeat in no. 6 singles.
