VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's soccer team hosted No. 7 UW-Eau Claire on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles and Blugolds played to a 1-1 draw in non-conference action. Riley Kann scored for the Eagles in the first half, but the late goal from UW-Eau Claire would equal the scoring.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood University (1-1-2) got on the scoreboard first, as Kann netted hist second goal in an Eagle uniform in the 37th minute. Kann's goal was assisted by Beckham Murrow.
- UW-Eau Claire (2-0-1) led Edgewood University 8-5 in shots through the first 45 minutes. Maverick Van Laanen was a big part of the Eagles defense in the first half, making four saves in net.
- After halftime, it was a back-and-forth affair, with four shots from both sides through the final 45 minutes.
- With less than seven minutes remaining, UW-Eau Claire netted the equalizer thanks to a set piece in the attacking zone.
- Liam Moreira and Kann each recorded two shots for the Eagles on the afternoon.
