Eagles, Pioneers play to scoreless draw

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Edgewood University women's soccer team battled to a scoreless tie with Carroll University on Saturday. The Eagles attack worked hard to increase their scoring opportunities in the second half, but the Pioneers defense kept the Eagles off the scoreboard in the non-conference affair.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood University (2-1-1) saw two close scoring opportunities come off the foot of Greta Blau in the second half of action on Saturday night. Blau recorded a shot on goal in the 72nd minute and in the final minute of action, both saved by Nevaeh Darby of Carroll University (0-1-2).

- The Eagles posted seven shots in the contest, six of which came in the second half of action. The Pioneers managed 11 shots in total, seven of which came in the first half.

- Madeline Brown kept the Pioneers off the scoreboard on Saturday, recording six saves in net for the Eagles. Four of Brown's saves came in the first 45 minutes.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Saturday's draw is the first between the two teams. The Eagles and Pioneers last met in 2005. Carroll leads the all-time series 4-1-1.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood University will host UW-Stout on Wednesday, September 10. Action is set for 6:00 p.m. from Edgewood University Field at Reddan Park.
