SAINT PETER, MINN. – Men's Tennis hit the road this weekend for the ITA Midwest Regional and the Midwest Invite.
Ryder Broadbridge and
Jon Olafsson claimed victories in their respective brackets, each advancing to the second round.
ITA MIDWEST REGIONAL
- Broadbridge earned an impressive win in the first round. He took down Conner Krysico of UW-Stevens Point 6-3, 6-4. He bowed out against Henry Park of Grinnell in 6-3, 6-2 fashion.
- In doubles, Broadbridge paired up with
Marek Woytasik. Bryton Short and Jumpei Kasai of Coe took them down 8-0.
MIDWEST INVITE
- Olafsson claimed a nail biter against Mason Ramierz of St. Olaf. He emerged victorious 7-6, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6). His run came to an end against Juan Diego Carpio of Grinnell in 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4) fashion.
- Woytasik fell 7-5, 6-2 to Sean Sonoiki of Loras, while
Andrew Hoffmann lost 6-3, 6-0 to Jacob Merriam of Bethel.

Ryan Casey rounded out the singles play with a 6-1, 6-3 defeat against Keanu Lin of UW-Superior.
- In doubles, Olafsson and
Justin Hutchcroft lost to Sree Sharan Kanugovi and Yash Chhabra of UW-Superior 8-2.
- Casey/Hoffmann dropped a 8-4 final to Cole Palese and Kellen Jones of Wartburg.
CONSOLATION BRACKET
- Olafsson fell 8-4 to Emilio Monge of UW-Eau Claire, while Woytasik lost 8-2 to Zander Peterson of Northwestern (MN).
- Ryan Reid of Bethel knocked out Casey 8-3. In doubles, Hoffmann/Hutchcroft battled with Sprague/Jonsson of UW-Whitewater, falling 8-4.
