MONTGOMERY, Ill. – The Edgewood University women's soccer team continued to roll past NACC opponents, taking down Aurora University 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles earned their sixth victory of the season and remain undefeated in conference play with their second-straight win. An early goal from Kamy Luecke was all the Eagles needed for the win on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kamy Luecke wasted little time putting Edgewood University (6-2-1, 2-0-0 NACC) ahead on Saturday afternoon. Just 11 minutes into action Reaghan Spencer sent a corner kick into the middle of the box, finding the head of Kamy Luecke for an Eagle goal.
- The Eagles defense only allowed two shots on goal from Aurora University (0-7-0, 0-2-0 NACC), one in each half.
- Edgewood University managed 13 shots on the day, including eight on target. Luecke recorded three shots, while Kayla Kerkman also managed three of her own. Madi Johnson put two shots on net for the Eagles.
- Madeline Brown recorded two saves in net for the Eagles. Melina Cane from Aurora recorded seven saves in net.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood University opens NACC play with a 2-0 record for the first time since the 2020 season. In the abbreviated 2020 season, the Eagles went 2-0 to open the conference season and went on to play in the NACC North Tournament Semifinal.
- The Eagles claim their sixth victory all-time versus Aurora.
