VERONA, Wis. – Six Eagles found the back of the net on Wednesday evening at Edgewood University Field at Reddan Park. Edgewood University opened NACC play with a 6-0 victory over Lakeland University. Three players scored their first goal in an Edgewood University uniform.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was the highest scoring game of the season as Edgewood University (5-2-1, 1-0-0 NACC) earned their first conference victory in dominant fashion. The Eagles impressed in the first half, as the offense scored three goals in the first 19 minutes and did not allow a shot from Lakeland University (0-3-1, 0-1-0 NACC).
- Savanna Buttram was responsible for the first Eagle goal. The freshman scored, assisted by Kayla Kerkman in the sixth minute of action.
- Madi Johnson gave the Eagles a 2-0 advantage in the 10th minute, when a free kick sailed over the goalkeeper's head.
- Kamy Luecke gave Edgewood University a 3-0 lead going into halftime. The senior's header finding the back of the net in the 19th minute, assisted by Reaghan Spencer.
- Addie Ninneman found the back of the net in the 71st minute to continue the scoring for the Eagles. Ninneman's goal assisted by Kamy Luecke.
- Hanah DeLuca joined in on the scoring party, converting a pass from Lacy Fabry to give the Eagles a 5-0 advantage with just under 10 minutes remaining.
- Audrey Kessenich netted the Eagles final goal in the 88th minute. Kessenich's goal was assisted by Jessi Crivello.
- Edgewood University outshot Lakeland 46-1 on Wednesday evening. The Muskies shot coming in the final minute.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Buttram, De Luca, and Ninneman all scored their first goals in an Eagle uniform on Wednesday evening.
- All but one Eagle goal was assisted on Wednesday evening.
- The Eagles extend their longest active win streak against an opponent to 23. All-time, the Eagles own a 40-4 record.
