Eagles open NACC play with shutout at Lakeland

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's soccer team opened their NACC Regular Season Title defense at Lakeland University on Wednesday. The Eagles high octane offense came alive in the conference opener, as they defeated the Muskies 7-0. Six different Eagles scored in the NACC victory.  

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It didn't take Edgewood University (3-1-2, 1-0-0 NACC) long to get on the board on Wednesday evening. Connor Gage scored just 1:53 into the game.

- Brandon Kaup netted back-to-back goals for the Eagles. The first in the 32nd minute, assisted by Riley Kann. Kaup's second goal game via a penalty kick for a 3-0 Eagle advantage.

- Jameson Carl opened scoring for the Eagles in the second half. Carl's first goal in an Eagle uniform assisted by Brian Vazquez Trejo.

- Torres-Gale gave Edgewood University a 5-0 lead with just 28 minutes left. Taylor Ganter assisted on the Eagles fifth goal.

- Riley Kann netted the Eagles sixth goal, assisted by Connor Thompson.

- Kevin Joyce found the back of the net in the 85th minute to complete the Eagles shutout.

- Edgewood University outshot Lakeland University (3-3-0, 0-1-0 NACC) 20-1 on Wednesday evening.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles seven goals are the most scored on a conference team since an 8-1 victory over Concordia Chicago on October 18, 2023.

- Edgewood University now leads the all-time series versus Lakeland 30-11-9.
