DUBUQUE, IOWA- Women's Volleyball wrapped up their stay in Iowa Saturday as they continued their nonconference trek. They took on the St. Olaf Oles. The Eagles (4-3) claimed a competitive 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-23) victory over the Oles (4-6).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams set the tone for the afternoon with matching runs early. After a 5-1 start from Edgewood University, St. Olaf evened things with a 6-2 sprint. A strong defense fueled five unanswered points for the Eagles as they found themselves with some distance. The Oles would push into the lead late on an 8-1 burst and a 21-18 edge. Edgewood University put together a strong comeback, an 8-3 rally to claim the set in extra points.

- Keeping momentum rolling, the Eagles flew ahead 9-3 to kick off the second frame. They continued to roll, soaring ahead 17-9 late. St. Olaf mounted a furious rally, six in a row pulling them within 21-20. Edgewood University gave them no more room, closing out the set 25-23.

- Six in a row had the Oles up 8-5 early in the third set. The Eagles hung around, a 6-3 stretch evening the set 18-18 late. Three in a row from St. Olaf sent them ahead 21-18, but Edgewood University finished the sweep strong on a 6-2 rally.

Nida Zukauskaite paced the Eagles with 12 kills and a .323 hitting percentage on 31 attempts.

Payton Millin anchored a strong showing at the net with seven blocks.
Marina Hosticka posted five blocks and
Katie Borchert four.

Kate Gunderson posted 16 and 15 assists respectively. They each tallied nine assists.

Mia Hinkamper performed well at libero with 17 digs.

- Three from the Oles had double-digit digs. Morgan Ryan led the way with 22 digs.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The meeting was the first time the two squads have met since the 2000 season. The record in the all-time series is 1-1.
- Zukauskaite's .323 hitting percentage was her personal best among all qualifying matches (min. 20 attempts).

Edgewood University will return home to roost at the Todd Wehr Edgedome Tuesday. They'll take on the Dubuque Spartans with first serve at 7:00 p.m.
