Brotz lifts Eagles past Grinnell in Iowa

GRINNELL, Iowa – The Edgewood University women's soccer team earned their first win of the 2025 season in a non-conference road battle at Grinnell College. An early goal from Rylee Brotz gave the Eagles the 1-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Edgewood University (1-1) attack wasted little time getting on the scoreboard on Saturday afternoon. Riley Haertle dished out a perfect pass to Rylee Brotz through the Grinnell College (0-1) defense. Brotz was able to convert the pass in the 13th minute to give the Eagles the 1-0 advantage.

- The Eagles held the Pioneers off the scoreboard in the first half, only allowing two shots.

- Edgewood University continued to hold strong in the second half, only allowing one shot from Grinnell and taking a whopping six shots in the final 45 minutes.

- Madeline Brown helped the Eagles to the shutout victory. The freshman earned the start in goal and made two saves in the first half before Emma Swenson took over in the second half.

- Brotz and Greta Blau each recorded three shots for the Eagles attack.
