2025 Women's Volleyball Seniors

Eagles Women's Volleyball Preview

The Edgewood University Women's Volleyball squad returns to the courts to defend their NACC crown once again in the 2025 season. The Eagles finished last season 24-10, 12-1 in the NACC to earn a share of the regular season crown and the top seed in the NACC Tournament. They then claimed their second-straight tournament trophy before returning to the NCAA Tournament. They reached back-to-back NCAA Tournaments for the first time in program history.

“We are so excited for this season to get going,” said head coach Paul Schlomer. “While we lost some great players to graduation this past year, we have so much talent returning. Add to that some fantastic freshmen who are competing well so far in practice. It is going to be a fun journey this year, and I think we could make another run at the NACC Championship. This team will be different than in years past, but they will be special in their own right.”

2025 Women's Volleyball Schedule

Edgewood University's schedule is as strong as ever in 2025. They open their slate with three teams featured in the top 25 of the AVCA Division III preseason poll, taking on no. 14 ETBU, receiving votes UW-Stevens Point, and no. 22 UW-Eau Claire at the Pikes Peak Challenge starting on Friday, August 29. They will take on six teams in total featured in the national preseason rankings, including no. 13 UW-Platteville in a rematch of last year's NCAA Division III Tournament first round bout on Tuesday, October 7. No. 6 UW-Oshkosh and receiving votes Gustavus Adolphus also await in the non-conference schedule.

“We have scheduled a tough slate of non-conference opponents this year," Schlomer said. "Eight of those teams were in the top 100 in NPI in 2024, five in the top 50. We love the challenge. If you want to be a top program, you need to play other great teams and see how it shakes out. Our experience against tough opponents last year will serve us well in 2025.”

The Eagles will kick off their hunt for a third-straight NACC title at Illinois Tech on Saturday, September 20. Edgewood University will play host to the other three top-four teams in the NACC last season. Concordia Wisconsin comes to the Todd Wehr Edgedome for a rematch of last year's NACC Tournament Final on Saturday, October 4. St. Norbert College pays a visit on Thursday, October 23 before Aurora awaits for a follow-up to last year's NACC Tournament Semifinal on Saturday, November 1. The Eagles will wrap up their regular season on the road at Wisconsin Lutheran on Thursday, November 6.

“I love that the NACC has gotten so competitive over the years in Women’s Volleyball.  Every team has raised the level of their game, and you have to be prepared every night for everyone’s best effort.”

2025 Women's Volleyball Roster
I cannot wait to see the awesome things our Seniors are going to do this year. Katie Borchert is coming off a First Team All NACC campaign and has gotten even better. Gabby Hack is going to be a strong presence at the net, and Mia Hinkamper is going to lock down our backcourt. Kate Gunderson has paid her dues and is ready to shine at setter for us. I am so excited for their leadership to shine through this season.

The target is definitely on our back as back-to-back defending champions, but we have a different team with different athleticism and energy. The NACC will see a new Eagle team that is still chasing big this with an eye on hoisting the trophy at the end of the season.
