VERONA, Wis. – It was redemption time for the Edgewood College women's lacrosse team on Saturday in the NACC Tournament First Round matchup with Beloit College. The Eagles earned their first-ever NACC Tournament win on home turf, taking down the Buccaneers 11-7. After a scoreless third quarter, the Eagles turned on the jets in the fourth quarter, recording six-straight goals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With 13:34 remaining in the fourth quarter, Edgewood College (9-7) and Beloit College (7-7), were tied up at five goals apiece. The Eagles attack exploded for six-straight goals to take an 11-5 advantage with six minutes remaining. In what proved to be a goal per minute, five-different Eagles scored to lift the Eagles to victory.
- The Eagles opened the game with four goals to take a 4-1 lead over the Buccaneers after the first quarter.
- Emma Raupp netted the Eagles only goal of the second quarter.
- Beloit scored the only goals of the third quarter, to close the gap to two goals (5-3) after three complete quarters.
- Edgewood College led Beloit 12 to 9 in draw controls on Saturday.
- The Eagles took advantage of their shots on Saturday afternoon, only taking 21, compared to 29 from Beloit.
TOP PERFORMERS
- Raupp netted five goals in the victory. The senior added five draw controls.
- Eloe did a bit of everything for the Eagles on Saturday. The junior scored four goals, collected three draw controls, and picked up three ground balls.
- Lauryn Brown recorded four draw controls, picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers.
- Zoee Pond recorded 12 saves in net for the Eagles. 10 of the senior's saves came in the first half.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood College's victory is their first-ever NACC Tournament win.
- Unitan, the Eagles career assists leader now owns 100 assists in her career. The graduate student breached the century mark with two assists in the win.
THE OPPOSITION
- Johanna McNair scored three goals and dished out two assists for Beloit.
- Maya DeGeorge scored twice, picked up seven draw controls, caused five turnovers, and collected eight ground balls.
- Kim Polin recorded four saves in net for the Buccaneers.

- Edgewood College will travel to No. 2 Aurora University on Wednesday, April 30. NACC Tournament Semifinal action is set for 4:00 p.m. from Montgomery, Illinois.
