Eagles dominate Beloit in Regular Season Finale

VERONA, Wis. The Edgewood College men's lacrosse team closed out regular season action with a 23-6 victory over Beloit. The Eagles dominated every quarter offensively, scoring four or more goals across each quarter of play. 10 different Eagles scored in the NACC victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (5-10, 4-7 NACC) opened the NACC battle on Wednesday with seven goals in the first quarter. James Borgardt, Maddux Ptasienski, Nick Orosco, and Alek Maurer all contributed to the Eagles scoring efforts in the opening quarter. The Eagles only allowed one Beloit (4-11, 1-10 NACC) goal in the opening 15 minutes.

- The Eagles continued to surge in the second quarter, scoring five goals and taking a 12-3 advantage into halftime. Beloit scored twice in the second quarter, but both times the Eagles responded quickly to shut down the Buccaneers attack.

- Out of the break, Brady Hunn scored the Eagles 13th goal, assisted by Ptasienski. Beloit scored twice in less than one minute to reach their five-goal total. From there, the Eagles scored eight unanswered goals to take a 21-5 lead with 6:50 left in the fourth quarter.

- The Eagles only allowed one goal from Beloit in the final quarter.

- Edgewood College dominated offensively, taking 78 shots and putting 47 shots on goal.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Orosco posted a career-best seven goals on Wednesday night. The senior added six ground balls.

- Rewey scored four times and dished out two assists. He added 10 ground balls and two caused turnovers.

- Ptasienski recorded three goals and dished out two assists.

- Stockwell posted three assists on Wednesday. The senior now owns 100 points in his career. Stockwell is the fifth Eagle in program history to reach this mark.

- Sean Callen went 12-for-17 at the faceoff for the Eagles.

- Zane Neville and Luke Quakenbush both caused three turnovers.

- Logan Searles and Mike Madeja combined for eight saves on the evening.

THE OPPOSITION
- Will Palmer scored twice and dished out the Buccaneers only assist.

- Liam Walker scored twice.

- Eric Seo recorded 24 saves in net for Beloit.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will travel to top-seeded Aurora University on Saturday for the NACC Tournament Quarterfinal. Action is set for 1:00 p.m. from Montgomery, Ill.
