Eagles down Sabres, remain undefeated in NACC

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 in conference play on Wednesday. The Eagles defeated the Sabres 13-10. Emma Raupp, Kerry Costello and Christina Eloe led the Eagles dynamic attack in the conference victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (4-5, 3-0 NACC) made their mark in the first quarter on Wednesday, scoring five goals and taking a 5-2 advantage through 15 minutes of action. NACC offensive player of the week, Emma Raupp netted the first goal for Edgewood College, assisted by Rachel Unitan.

- The Eagles managed four goals in the second quarter, coming from Raupp, Malak Daoud, and Christina Eloe. Edgewood College took home a 9-5 advantage at halftime.

- Both teams only managed three goals in the third quarter. The Eagles scoring twice from Daoud and Costello. After a slow offensive period, the Eagles took an 11-6 lead into the final quarter.

- Edgewood College scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter, but Marian University 3-8, 0-3 NACC) charged back with four goals to close out the contest. The Eagles held on to the victory thanks to their first half offensive efforts.

- Edgewood College dominated the draw control on Wednesday, collecting 20, while Marian collected seven.

- Four Eagle goals came via free-position shot.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Raupp posted four goals on Wednesday, two coming via three-position shot.

- Costello tied her career-best performance with four goals.

- Malak Daoud posted two goals and dished out two assists.

- Eloe recorded a hat trick, collected nine draw controls and picked up seven ground balls.

- Zoee Pond recorded six saves in net for the Eagles.

THE OPPOSITION
- Nicole Stanchon recorded four goals, dished out two assists, collected five draw controls and caused three turnovers.

- Emma Johnson recorded seven saves in net for the Sabres.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will host Aurora University on Saturday, April 5. Action is set for 1:00 p.m. from Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park.
