LISLE, Ill. – Baseball hit the road once more as they continued NACC action. They faced off with the Benedictine Eagles in the battle of the birds down south. Benedictine (19-13, 11-7 NACC) proved to be too much in the doubleheader, winning 11-5 and 10-6 against Edgewood College (14-16, 8-8).
GAME ONE: BENEDICTINE 11, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 5
- Edgewood College allowed six unanswered runs from Benedictine in the first five innings. The scoring started with a Benedictine two-run home run to left field in the first. A four-run fifth pushed the hosts ahead 6-0.
- Edgewood College cut into the lead with four runs between the seventh and eighth innings. A
Daniel Bentivegna double battled in a run, before
Carson Richter plated Bentivegna. A two-run shot to right center from
Jacob Carney in the eighth cut the edge down to 6-4.
- Benedictine put things to bed with a five-run bottom of the eighth. A sacrifice fly and a single each scored a run, before a fielder's choice, an outfield single, and a wild pitch left things 11-4 Benedictine.

Terry Tolliver Jr. sent in a run with a single up the middle in the ninth.

Ryan Mixey tossed 4.2 innings, allowing no earned runs and striking out seven.
- Tolliver and
Hayden Hellenbrand each recorded two hits.
- Conner Kendall earned the victory for Benedictine, pitching eight innings with six strikeouts.
GAME TWO: BENEDICTINE 10, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 6
- Benedictine got off to a hot start again in game two. Benedictine plated two runs in the first thanks to a sacrifice fly to right field and a single through the right side. A two-RBI double down the left field line left things 4-0 Benedictine.

Brevin Brisack put Edgewood College on the board with an RBI single through the left side in the fourth. Benedictine put together a four-run sixth. A single to left center scored two runs, before a single to right center and a sacrifice fly to center field recorded a run for a 8-1 edge. A home run to right field put the hosts ahead 9-1 after seven.
- Edgewood College put together a five-run eighth. Brisack recorded an RBI with a sacrifice fly to center field. Bentivegna and
Dominic Lee both singled to tally runs. A
Ryan Harris fielder's choice followed by a wild pitch cut the edge to 9-6.
- Benedictine tacked on an insurance run in the eighth with a sacrifice fly to right field as they earned the doubleheader sweep.
- Carney was the lone multi-hit Edgewood College batter in game two.
- Hellenbrand recorded two walks and a stolen base.
Kyle Prindle earned three walks and two stolen bases.
- Brennan Fisher and Mike Budorick hit 3-for-4 for Benedictine. Budorick recorded a double and a home run, tallying four RBIs.
- Jackson Bahn recorded a quality start in the victory for Benedictine. He pitched six innings, striking out seven and allowing one earned run.

Edgewood College will take their final nonconference detour of the season on Monday. They'll face off with UW-Platteville in a doubleheader of seven-inning games. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Platteville, Wis.
