VERONA, Wis. – Baseball hosted Veteran's Appreciation Day at Stampfl Field Tuesday evening. They took on the MSOE Raiders in a NACC showdown. The Raiders (16-11, 11-3 NACC) mounted a furious rally for a 20-17 victory in game one, but the Eagles (14-14, 8-6) struck back with a 10-0 gem in eight innings for the split.
GAME ONE MSOE 20, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 17
- The squads exchanged haymakers early.
Aidan Kammer opened up the scoring with a single to left field in the second, while a
Hayden Hellenbrand single through the left side plated a pair as Edgewood College led 4-0 after two.
- MSOE struck back with four in the top of the third, a two-RBI double and a pair of singles tying the game. The Eagles replied with a five-run third, a
Carson Richter single followed by a Kammer double to right center and a
Terry Tolliver Jr. home run to right to take a 9-4 lead.
- After the Raiders sent in a pair in the top of the fifth, Edgewood College put together another four-run frame in the bottom of the inning. Tolliver singled in a run down the right field line, followed by
Jacob Carney sending one home with a sacrifice fly.
Brevin Brisack put in two with a double down the left field line for a 13-6 edge.
- MSOE would trim the edge to 13-8 in the seventh and struck in the eighth. After five runs crossed home from walks and hit by pitches, a grand slam to right field sent the Raiders roaring ahead. A single to center tacked on another for a 19-13 edge.
- The Eagles replied with a four-run eighth. A Hellenbrand single up the middle plated one, before Carney doubled in a pair to left field.
Kyle Prindle left things 19-17 with a groundout to first base.
- After a triple with one out, a single through the left side tacked on an insurance run for the Raiders as they claimed the comeback.
- Tolliver and Richter each hit 4-for-5. Six Edgewood College players recorded multi-hit affairs.
- Bosque hit the grand slam for MSOE. Brzezinsky earned the save with a hitless ninth inning, while Shah allowed no runs in 2.2 innings pitched to earn the victory.
GAME TWO: EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 10, MSOE 0 (EIGHT INNINGS)
- Brisack kicked off the scoring in game two with a two-RBI single to center field. The Eagles poured it on in the second. Kammer singled to center field for an RBI single, while a bases-loaded error helped Carney reach safely and plate a run. After back-to-back walks, a fielder's choice from
Daniel Bentivegna and an RBI grounder from
Dominic Lee left things 8-0 Edgewood College.

Kris Hahn pitched a complete game gem in the victory. He tossed eight scoreless innings, striking out eight with only three hits and three walks allowed.
- The Eagles sent the Raiders home with two runs in the eighth. After Tolliver batted in Richter, a Carney fielder's choice scored Tolliver for the run rule victory.
- Kammer hit 2-for-4 with an RBI. Brisack earned three RBIs in the victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Hahn's complete game shutout in game two was the first shutout this season for the Eagles.
- Hellenbrand and Tolliver are first and second in the NACC in stolen bases. Hellenbrand leads the conference with 20, while Tolliver is tied for second with 19.
- The victory in game two snapped a four-game losing streak against MSOE.

Edgewood College returns to road action Saturday as they continue a stretch of important NACC matchups. They'll take on the Benedictine Eagles in a battle of the birds Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for noon in Lisle, Ill.
