Eagles advantage erased by Raiders in second half

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's lacrosse team dropped a low-scoring defensive battle at MSOE on Saturday. The Raiders took the 6-4 victory behind four goals in the third quarter. Logan Searles backed the Eagles defense in net.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (3-9, 2-6 NACC) led 2-1 at halftime. MSOE (8-5, 6-2 NACC) opened the contest with the first goal, but it was back-to-back goals from Nick Orosco and Brady Hunn that gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead after the first quarter of action.

 - Neither team found the back of the net in the second quarter. Both defenses were busy in the quarter, as there were nine total saves between both goalkeepers.

- The Eagles extended their lead to 4-1 after halftime. Luke Quakenbush scored with 12:12 on the clock in the third quarter. Orosco netted his second goal of the afternoon for the three-goal lead.

- MSOE bounced back, scoring five unanswered goals to take home the conference victory.

- Searles managed five saves in the final quarter, but a whopping six saves from the Raiders goalkeeper kept the Eagles off the board through the final 15 minutes.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Searles managed 16 saves in net for the Eagles. Nine of the sophomores saves came in the second half of action.

- Orosco scored twice.

- Zane Neville caused three turnovers.

THE OPPOSITION
- Carter Stahl led the Raiders attack with two goals and one assist.

- Soren Savard, Luke Neal, Tom Farren and Case Robert all scored for MSOE.

- MSOE dominated the faceoff, with Graden Jansen going 8-for-10, while Alex De Vries was a perfect 3-for-3.

- Alex Lo recorded 13 saves in the victory.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will travel to Cornell College on Wednesday, April 16. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. from Mount Vernon, Iowa.
