Eagles swept by Falcons in NACC Twinbill

VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College softball team was swept by Concordia University Wisconsin on Monday in a home twinbill at Ceniti Park. The Eagles battled with the Falcons in game one, scoring in late innings, but falling 7-3. Game two was controlled throughout by the Falcons, a 11-0 final in five innings.

CONCORDIA WISCONSIN 7, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 3
- Lauren Prigge was strong in the circle for Edgewood College (8-14, 3-3 NACC) recording no runs through her first four innings of work. The freshman struck out four batters in the start.

- Concordia Wisconsin (10-6, 3-1 NACC) put five runs on the board in the fifth frame.

- The Eagles responded with an RBI double off the bat of Olivia Hebert to plate two runs in the bottom of the frame.

- Edgewood College scored in the sixth frame, but it wasn't enough to catch the Falcons.

- Hebert went 2-for-3 at the plate in game one. Kya Loffswold went 1-for-2 and scored a run. Six different Eagles recorded a hit.

CONCORDIA WISCONSIN 11, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 0 – 5 INNINGS
- Concordia Wisconsin earned the nightcap victory scoring in two innings. The Falcons plated six runs in the third inning before adding five in the fifth frame to close out the run-rule victory.

- Edgewood College struggled to put runners into scoring position in game two. The Eagles only runners in scoring position came in the third and fifth frames.  

- Adrianna Martinez went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Falcons, scoring two runs, driving in two and recording a double.

- Four Eagle pitchers saw the circle in the nightcap. Nikki Fahey earned the start, going 2.2 innings and scattering two hits.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will host Concordia Chicago on Saturday, April 5. The NACC doubleheader is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. from Ceniti Park.
