MADISON, WIS. – Men's Tennis hosted a pair of NACC foes at the Powless Tennis Center Saturday. They took on the Concordia Chicago Cougars and the St. Norbert Green Knights. The Eagles (5-11, 1-2 NACC) took down the Cougars (0-8, 0-1) 4-3 before dropping a 6-1 final to the Green Knights (3-9, 1-0).
MATCH ONE: EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 4, CONCORDIA CHICAGO 3

Justin Hutchcroft and
Taite Thomas kicked things off in no. 2 doubles with a 6-1 victory. The Cougars evened doubles with a 6-1 final against
Jon Olafsson and
Marek Woytasik in top billing, but the tandem of
Andrew Hoffmann and
William Faley clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory in the third slot.
- Hoffmann and Woytasik pushed the Eagles within reach of the match in no. 3 and 4 singles with 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1 finals respectively.
- Olafsson dropped a 6-2, 6-2 tilt in no. 1 singles, but Hutchcroft clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-3 showing in the second slot.
- Faley conceded a 6-1, 6-0 match in no. 6 singles. Thomas battled to the end in the fifth slot but fell 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-2).
MATCH TWO: ST. NORBERT 6, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 1
- Hoffmann/
Ethan Towne got the Eagles going with a 6-3 victory in no. 3 doubles, but Edgewood College was unable to capitalize. The tandems of Olafsson/Woytasik and Hutchcroft/Thomas fell 6-2 in the first slot and 6-1 in the second slot respectively.
- After Towne dropped a 6-0, 6-0 match in no. 6 singles, Woytasik put Edgewood College on the board with a 6-0, 6-3 victory in the fourth slot.
- The Green Knights would clinch the victory with a 6-2, 6-3 tally against Hoffmann in the third slot and a 6-2, 6-1 final against Olafsson in top billing.
- Hutchcroft lost 6-1, 6-2 in no. 2 singles and Thomas 6-2, 7-5 in no. 5 singles.

The Eagles will continue action tomorrow at the Powless Tennis Center. They'll take on Ripon with first serve scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
