Edgewood College drops NACC battle at Benedictine

LISLE, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's lacrosse team dropped a close conference battle at Benedictine University on Saturday afternoon. Six different players from Edgewood College scored in the Battle of the Eagles.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (2-6, 1-3 NACC) trailed 5-8 going into the final 15 minutes on Saturday. Brady Hunn and Andrew Stich twice for Edgewood College in the opening minutes of the final quarter to help the visiting Eagles trail Benedictine (2-8, 1-4 NACC) 7-8. Benedictine would score five goals in the final 11 minutes to take home the victory.
- Tyler Stockwell scored the first goal on Saturday, assisted by Lake Rewey. Edgewood College briefly led 2-1 at the 9:49 mark, before Benedictine scored twice to end the first quarter with a 3-2 advantage.
- Benedictine scored twice in the second quarter, keeping Edgewood College off the board before halftime. Benedictine took a 5-2 lead into the break.
- Both Eagle squads scored three times in the third quarter. Nick Orosco netted two goals in the third quarter for Edgewood College. Maddux Ptasienski scored the fifth goal for Edgewood College.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Logan Searles recorded a career-best 15 saves in net for Edgewood College.
- Orosco and Hunn both recorded two goals.
- Stockwell dished out three assists.
- Maurer and Searles both caused two turnovers.
- Sean Callen went 7-for-19 at the faceoff for Edgewood College.

THE OPPOSITION
- Luis Hernandez posted four goals and dished out one assist for Benedictine.
- Robert Schroeder scored twice and dished out two assists.
- Dylan Langley and Aiden Elliot both scored twice.
- Colin Doyle recorded 10 saves in net for Benedictine.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will host Lawrence University on Wednesday, April 2. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. from Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park.
