MADISON, WIS. – Men's Volleyball hosted a critical NACC match at the Todd Wehr Edgedome Tuesday. They took on the Lakeland Muskies. The Eagles (7-12, 4-6 NACC) turned the tide against the Muskies (7-14, 1-8 NACC) with a strong defensive outing in a 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-20) victory
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lakeland launched ahead with an 8-1 advantage early in the first set. Edgewood College struggled to find answers until the defense took over late. Six unanswered points, including three blocks, brought the Eagles even 21-21. The Muskies found their groove on offense to close out the first set 25-23.
- Lakeland had momentum early in the second, kicking off the set on a 7-3 burst. Edgewood College blunted their momentum with a 7-2 response to tie the set, though Lakeland found the wind at their back with a 5-1 run and a 15-12 edge. The Eagles stormed ahead with a 10-4 sprint to flip the script and help even the match.
- The Muskies had no response as they weathered rough seas against the Edgewood College attack in the third set. The Eagles never trailed in the frame, closing out the set on an 8-3 sprint and outhitting Lakeland .619-to-.042 in the set.
- The two squads jockeyed for position early in the fourth set. While Edgewood College led 10-7 early, a 5-1 run from Lakeland gave them a slim 12-11 edge. The Eagles found their wings late, a 6-1 run propelling them up 19-15. Edgewood College would grind down the Muskies down the stretch for a important NACC victory.
- The Eagles outhit the Muskies .265-to-.110. They held a 14-to-10 advantage in blocks.
- Three players had four or more blocks for Edgewood College.
Owen Voigt paced the Eagles with five blocks and three aces.

Will Gehrke anchored the offense with 36 assists. He aso posted four blocks.

Carsyn Stringfellow tallied nine kills and four blocks.

Ryder Hill-Zastrow swung for 11 kills on 26 attempts for a .346 hitting percentage.

Gavin Patterson earned nine kills and
Owen Hartjes eight. Patterson contributed six digs, while Hartjes hit .583 on 12 swings.

Jack Mullane held down the fort on a stout Edgewood College defense. He led the team with 13 digs.
- Ben Busalacchi recorded 14 kills on 26 attempts for a .308 hitting percentage.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 14 blocks as a team matched the previous single-match program record. They were also the third-most by any NACC team in a match this season.
- Voigt's three aces were a career high.
