ORLANDO, FLA. – Women's Tennis wrapped up Spring Break action in Florida Thursday. They faced off with the Springfield Pride and the St. Lawrence Saints. The Pride (4-2) got the better of the Eagles (14-7) in a 7-0 sweep, before the Saints (13-0) remained undefeated with a 6-1 victory.
MATCH ONE: SPRINGFIELD 7, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 0

Evelyn Taylor and
Marissa Light dropped a 6-4 affair in top doubles,
Hattie Plenty and
Madelyn Connaughty conceded a 6-1 tally in second billing as the Pride claimed the doubles point.
- Springfield knocked down
Christina Ekkela and
Sarah Emory 6-3 in no. 3 doubles.
- Taylor hung tough in no. 1 singles but fell to a 6-2, 7-5 margin. Light lost 6-3, 6-0 in the second slot.
- The Pride beat Plenty 6-1, 6-2 in third singles and Connaughty 6-1, 6-3 in fourth billing.
- Ekkela dropped a 6-1, 6-4 final in the fifth slot and Emory a 6-1, 6-0 tally in no. 6 singles.
MATCH TWO: ST. LAWRENCE 6, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 1
- Taylor/Light and Plenty/Connaughty dropped identical 6-2 margins in no. 1 and 2 singles as the Saints claimed the doubles point.
- Ekkela/Emory were a bright spot in doubles with a 6-1 victory.
- Taylor lost a nailbiter in top singles 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 1-0 (10-7). Light conceded a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4) match in the second slot.
- Plenty lost 6-4, 6-4 in the third slot, while St. Lawrence took down Connaughty 6-4, 6-1 in the fourth slot. Emory fell short in a 6-0, 6-1 loss in no. 6 singles.
- Ekkela continued to shine with a 6-0, 6-3 victory in no. 5 singles.

The Eagles will continue nonconference action Sunday, March 30 at the Powless Tennis Center. They'll take on the Ripon Red Hawks with first serve scheduled for noon.
