Eagles fall to Foresters in NACC Opener

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's lacrosse team opened conference play at Lake Forest College on Thursday afternoon. The Eagles fell to the Foresters 17-9. Nick Orosco led the Eagles attack with a hat trick.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lake Forest College (3-4, 2-0 NACC) opened their first NACC contest against Edgewood College (1-4, 0-1 NACC) with a whopping seven goals in the first quarter. Edgewood College responded with two goals, one from Orosco, the other Trent Hogendorf in the final minute of the quarter.

- The Eagles attack buckled down, holding the Foresters to just two goals in the second quarter. Lake Rewey and Maddux Ptasienski each scored for the Eagles in the second quarter. At halftime, the Foresters led 9-4.

- The Eagles outscored the Foresters in the third quarter 3-2. Tyler Stockwell netted the Eagles fifth goal, as Orsco and Alek Maurer added to the Eagles attacking efforts.

- Lake Forest closed the game the way it started, scoring six goals.

- The Foresters dominated the offensive opportunities on Thursday, taking 57 shots, compared to just 25 for the Eagles.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Searles posted a career-best 13 saves in net for the Eagles. The sophomore added six ground balls.

- The Eagles collected nine faceoff wins on Thursday, led by five from Sean Callen.

- Orosco collected the hat trick.

- Ptasienski scored twice for the Eagles.

- Zach Thomas dished out a team-best two assists.

- Zane Neville posted a game-high four caused turnovers.

THE OPPOSITION
- Macklin Thomas posted a hat trick for the Foresters. He added one assist.

- Aidan Wigton and Trip Gaston both scored twice for Lake Forest.

- Andrew Widlar recorded 10 saves across 54 minutes in net.  

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will host Illinois Tech on Saturday. Action is set for 1:00 p.m. from Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park.
