Eagles victory over Beloit highlights Sunday at UW-Oshkosh Invitational

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Edgewood College softball team earned their first victory of 2025 in the nightcap at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Sunday. Edgewood College took home a 13-1 victory in six innings over Beloit. The Eagles opened the day with a 9-0 loss in six innings to No. 4 UW-Oshkosh.

EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 13, BELOIT COLLEGE 1 (6 INNINGS)
- After opening the season against a string of tough opponents, including two ranked, Edgewood College (1-5) finally broke through with a victory against Beloit College on Sunday afternoon. The Eagle batters combined for 14 hits to score 13 runs and take down Beloit 13-1 in six innings.

- The Eagles didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard in the nightcap. Kya Loffswold opened the game with a hit by pitch. The senior scored from second base later in the inning, thanks to a throwing error by Beloit (0-2).

- The Buccaneers tied the contest in the bottom of the third frame.

- Edgewood College quickly responded, scoring three runs in the top of the fourth inning. A Grace Ott single scored Natalie Fields from third base to take a 2-1 lead. Hebert scored the Eagles third run, while a Camden Shepherd single plated Ott for a 4-1 advantage.

- The Eagles tacked on a run in the fifth, before an eight run sixth frame solidified the run-rule victory for Edgewood College. It was a hit parade for the Eagles, as nine singles in the final frame proved their consistency at the plate. Loffswold, Hebert, Ott, Gracie Halfman, Grace Baugnet, and Lily Mabs each recorded an RBI in the inning.

- Ott led the Eagles with three hits, scoring two runs and driving in three Eagles.

- Lily Mabs went 2-for-2 at the plate, scoring a run and driving in a run.

- Olivia Hebert collected two hits in the nightcap, scoring twice and driving in a run.

- Kaitlin Pratt was phenomenal in the circle for the Eagles. Pratt pitched a complete game for her first win in an Edgewood College uniform. Pratt struck out a whopping six batters and did not allow an earned run.

NO. 4 UW-OSHKOSH 9, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 0 (6 INNINGS)
- The Eagles opened Sunday against the fourth-ranked UW-Oshkosh Titans. Edgewood College managed to hold the high-powered Titans attack scoreless through the first two innings on Sunday.

- UW-Oshkosh (6-0) loaded the bases in the third inning and broke open scoring with a single to left field. The Titans would score four runs in the third frame.

- Edgewood College defense continued to hold strong, not allowing any Titan runs in the fourth or fifth frames.

- UW-Oshkosh proved their impressive national ranking, scoring five runs in the sixth inning.

- Loffswold and Shepherd each recorded a hit against the Titans.

- Lauren Prigge recorded four innings of work for the Eagles, striking out two batters.

- Brianna Bougie earned the win in the circle for the Titans, pitching five innings and striking out seven batters.

- Edgewood College will next hit the dirt down in Clermont, Florida at The Spring Games. The Eagles will open their time in the sunshine state against Gordon College on Friday, March 14 at 11:30 a.m. (ET).
