PENSACOLA, FLA. – Baseball wrapped up competition at the Studer's Blue Wahoos Stadium Challenge on a high note Tuesday. They took on the UW-Stout Blue Devils once more. The Eagles (4-7) stopped a Blue Devil (2-8) rally cold in an 8-4 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College got on the board first in the second inning.
Carson Richter hit a single into right field to plate a run. The Eagles added on a pair in the third, with a
Dominic Lee double to right center sending one home and a wild pitch adding another for a 3-0 edge.
- UW-Stout battled back to a draw. They took advantage of a bases loaded opportunity for a walk and an error to each score a run as they cut the lead down to 3-2 in the fifth. An RBI single to right field in the seventh would even the tally.
- The Eagles took advantage of a bases-loaded opportunity in the eighth. After walking home a run, an error by the left fielder plated three runs as Edgewood College built up a 7-3 lead. A sacrifice fly to right field from the Blue Devils in the bottom of the eighth and a
Mac Vesperman sacrifice fly to right in the ninth would wrap up the scoring in the Eagle victory.
- Lee and
Brevin Brisack each had two hits in the victory. Brisack hit 2-for-2 with a walk.

Ryan Mixey struck out four in a five-inning start. Aiden Schumaker earned the victory.

Hayden Hellenbrand contributed three RBIs.

Kyle Prindle recorded three walks.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Prindle's 14 walks paces the Eagles and is tied for second in the NACC this season.
- As a team, Edgewood College's 70 walks are second in the conference this season.
- Edgewood College has won back-to-back against UW-Stout. The Blue Devils own the series lead 5-4.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will return to the region Saturday to kick off NACC action. They'll travel to Chicago, Ill. to take on the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
