ORLANDO, FLA. – Women's Tennis kicked off their Spring Break Monday in dominant fashion. They faced off with the Western Connecticut State Wolvers in non-conference action at the USTA National Campus. The Eagles (14-4) cruised to a 7-0 victory against the Wolves (5-11).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College would only drop one point in doubles action.
Evelyn Taylor and
Marissa Light teamed up in top doubles for a 6-0 victory.
Hattie Plenty and
Madelyn Connaughty followed up with a 6-1 final in second doubles.

Christina Ekkela and
Sarah Emory put a bow on doubles with a 6-0 tally in the third slot.
- Taylor kept momentum rolling into singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in top billing. Light and Plenty won by identical 6-0, 6-0 finals in no. 2 and 3 singles respectively to clinch the match.
- Connughty posted a 6-1, 6-1 final in the fourth slot. Ekkela and Emory wrapped up the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 final in fifth singles and a 6-0, 6-3 win in the sixth slot respectively.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The meeting was the first between the two women's tennis programs.
