Tigers ground Eagles in Florida

PENSACOLA, FLA. – Baseball continued play at the Studer's Blue Wahoos Stadium Challenge Wednesday evening. They squared off with the Sewanee Tigers. The Tigers (11-6) avenged their loss from yesterday with a 10-2 victory over the Eagles (1-5).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The pitchers commanded the first four innings of the game, with Ryan Mixey tossing five scoreless innings to start. Edgewood College broke through first in the fifth inning, with a Jacob Carney single up the middle plating a run.

- Sewanee did their damage in the sixth. After they loaded the bases with no outs, a sacrifice fly to right field evened the tally for the Tigers. After a passed ball plated a run, a pair of walks would load the bases once again with one out. A triple would send all of the baserunners home, before a sacrifice fly to right field tacked on one more for a 6-1 edge.

- The eighth would see two more runs come home for the Tigers, while a double play would tack on a second run for the Eagles. Sewanee would send one home in the ninth with a double play to finalize the tally.

- Carney hit 3-for-4 with an RBI. Kyle Prindle swung 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.

- Jake Walling earned the victory for the Tigers. He pitched five innings and tossed four strikeouts.

- Charlie Teel hit 3-for-5 with a double for Sewanee. Will Jennewein finished hitting 1-fr-2 with two runs, three RBIs, and a triple.
