MILWAUKEE, WIS. – Men's Volleyball continued their trek through NACC action Tuesday. They took on the MSOE Raiders in a road battle. The Raiders (7-9, 5-1 NACC) were propelled by a strong serve game to a 3-1 (25-13, 25-15, 24-26, 25-22) victory over the Eagles (5-11, 2-5).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After leading 9-7, MSOE put together a 14-2 burst to all but put away a 25-13 victory in the opening frame.
- The Raiders continued to shine in set two. An 8-3 rally pushed them ahead 13-7, and a 7-3 run closed out the second set.
- Edgewood College rallied in set three. A strong offensive start pushed them ahead 7-4. MSOE clawed back to a 15-15 draw. The two teams would be locked in a hard-fought set, with the squads tied at 22-22. Mistakes would prove to be costly for the Raiders as the Eagles ground out a 26-24 win to stay alive.
- A 5-1 run early saw Edgewood College with momentum in the fourth set. While MSOE put together a 4-1 response for a 9-8 edge. The Eagles took full advantage of mistakes for a 7-1 response to take a 15-10 lead. MSOE struck back as they found rhythm on offense, four kills in a row sparking an 8-3 response to even things up 18-18. The Raiders closed the match strong with a 7-2 finisher.
- MSOE had a 9-to-1 advantage in aces and a .183-to.130 edge in hitting percentage.
- Callan Harris recorded an 18-kill, 11-dig double-double. Seth Thomas contributed a 13-kill, 10-dig double-double with four aces.

Gavin Patterson paced Edgewood College with nine kills. He also tacked on 11 digs.

Jack Mullane led all players with 13 digs.

Ryder Hill-Zastrow swung for eight kills.
Will Gehrke fueled the offense with 34 assists.

The Eagles will return to action on Thursday, March 20 as they enter the home stretch of conference play. They'll host the Rockford Regents at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
