BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Edgewood College women's lacrosse team fell at Illinois Wesleyan University 11-5 on Saturday. Emma Raupp scored four goals in the non-conference loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Illinois Wesleyan University (2-1) opened the first quarter with back-to-back goals. With 7:27 remaining in the first quarter, Carleigh Fountain scored the first goal of the afternoon, assisted by Sarah Riepe. The Titans would score once more before Emma Raupp got Edgewood College (0-2) on the board with three minutes remaining in the quarter.
- Raupp netted the first goal of the second quarter to tie the contest at two goals apiece. The Titans went on to score three more times before halftime to lead 5-2 at the break.
- Illinois Wesleyan pour on the goals in the third quarter, scoring four to take a 9-2 advantage going into the final quarter.
- The Eagles wouldn't go away, scoring three goals in the final 15 minutes and holding the Titans to just two goals. Kerry Costello scored her first goal of 2025 with 1:03 left in the contest.
- Edgewood College struggled with turnovers; double-digit numbers coming in the category in all four quarters.
TOP PERFORMERS
- Raupp led the Eagles with four goals. She added four draw controls and two caused turnovers.
- Christina Eloe recorded seven ground balls, four caused turnovers and four draw controls.
- Macy Augustine held down the Eagles defense with six ground balls and four caused turnovers.
- Zoee Pond recorded nine saves in net for Edgewood College.
THE OPPOSITION
- Mia Fiandaca scored four times for the Titans. She added 12 caused turnovers, nine ground balls and six caused turnovers.
- Carleigh Fountain recorded three goals and one assist.
- Lizzie Rymarcsuk recorded three saves in net for Illinois Wesleyan.
