Stars blockers shine as Eagles fall

MADISON, Wis.- Men's Volleyball hosted their second-straight NACC match at the Todd Wehr Edgedome Saturday. They took on the Stars in a conference battle. The Stars (6-7, 3-1 NACC) defense proved to be too much to handle as they took down the Eagles (4-9, 1-3) 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-19).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Dominican jumped out to a 7-1 lead, Edgewood College battled back with an 8-4 rally to close within two. The Stars replied with five unanswered as the Eagles struggled with attack errors. Dominican continued to roll to a 25-12 set one.

- The two squads exchanged kills to open the second set, but Dominican once again took control of the set. An 8-4 rally propelled them ahead 14-9, before a late 7-2 burst pushed them to a 23-14 lead.

- Edgewood College grabbed momentum in the opening salvos of the third set with a 4-1 run featuring a pair of aces. The Stars answered with a 11-4 burst to build a 12-8 advantage. A 6-2 follow-up from Dominican kept the wind at their back as they claimed an impressive sweep.

- The Stars recorded 17 blocks in the victory. Landon Diaz anchored the front line with 10 blocks, while Ty Geschke recorded 13 kills and eight blocks.
