MADISON- Men's Basketball returned to the Todd Wehr Edgedome Wednesday for a battle of the Eagles. They faced off with the Benedictine Eagles in a NACC showdown. Edgewood College (4-17, 3-11 NACC) put together a 31-4 run to pull ahead in the first half, but Benedictine (8-13, 7-7) forced overtime with a strong second half and claimed an 83-79 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Edgewood College held a 10-9 lead at 14:19, Benedictine mounted a 17-3 rally to pull ahead 26-13 at the 9:12 mark as Edgewood College struggled with turnovers.

- Edgewood College mounted a 31-4 explosion featuring six three-pointers as a team and 19 points from
Danny Mulcare to pull ahead 44-30 with 1:52 remaining in the half. The hosts would maintain their 14-point edge, heading into the locker room ahead 46-32.

- Edgewood College shot 56.25 (18-of-32) percent from the field and 46.67 (7-of-15) from beyond the arc in the first twenty minutes.

- Edgewood College continued to shoot well to start the second half, building up to a 58-41 advantage at 14:44. Benedictine made their move starting at 9:09. Down 13, Resch Tanner attacking the paint and timely three-point shooting fueled a 19-6 run to draw even at 72 with 1:27 remaining. Tied at 74 with the ball, Benedictine's last jumper missed its target as the Eagle teams went to OT.

- A three-pointer from
Trent Tousana at 3:53 in OT gave Edgewood College a slim 77-76 advantage, but a clutch three-pointer from Benedictine at 1:26 pulled the visitors ahead 81-78. A timely steal from Benedictine at :30 forced Edgewood College to foul, but their offense sputtered as Benedictine emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle.

- Benedictine had a 17-to-8 advantage in points off of turnovers.

- Tanner Resch posted 38 points, shooting 16-of-30 from the field as he pulled Benedtictine to victory. He also led the team with five assists.

- Pat Mayfield recorded a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double.

- Mulcare tallied 30 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double. He shot 12-of-21 from the field and 6-of-12 from beyond the arc.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Mulcare's 30 points, 14 rebounds, and six threes made were all career bests. The 30 points is also the most scored by any Edgewood College player in a game this season.

- Resch's 38 points is the second-most scored by any player in the NACC in a game this season.
