DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Edgewood College track & field team competed at the Sol Butler Classic hosted by the University of Dubuque on Friday. Kadin Wojcik recorded two indoor school records, while Ayden Price set the second fastest time in school history in the 200 meter. In total, 13 personal-best marks were set by the Eagles on Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wojcik broke his own indoor mark in the high jump on Friday. The senior cleared 1.58 meters to finish 12th in the event. He followed that up with the first successful pole vault mark in indoor school history (2.60m).
- Ayden Price led a trio of Eagles in the 200 meter. Price posted a personal-best time and second fastest in indoor school history. The freshman crossed the finish line in 22.85 to finish second in the event. Yitzak Tristan added a PR time of 26.53 in the event. Miguel Meza rounded out the Eagles lineup with a time of 28.99.
- Lauren Mesa and Stephanie Resendiz posted personal-best times in the 200 meter. Mesa clocked in a time of 29.00, which is good for ninth on the Eagles honor roll list. Resendiz came across the line in 29.02, a time that is good for 10th on the honor roll list. Kayla Kerkman was next across the line for the Eagles in the event with a time of 29.72. Emma Miller (30.01) and Isabella Pescador (32.37) also set PR marks in the event.
- Brett Cox and Nick Pacubas competed in the Mile run on Friday. Cox crossed the finish line in 4:51.19, while Pacubas set a PR time of 4:58.22.
- Maya Thompson competed in the 800 meter for the first time as an Eagle. Thompson finished eighth in the event with a time of 2:43.33.
- Jordan Lawson led a flock of Eagles in the 60 meter dash prelims on Friday. Lawson clocked in a PR time of 8.35. Mesa (8.54) and Resendiz (8.77) were next across the finish line for the Eagles. Miller rounded out the Eagles performance in the event with a PR time of 8.96.
- Wojcik (8.14), Tristan (8.16) and Meza (8.47) also competed in the 60 meter dash prelims.
- Pescador competed in the 60 meter hurdles prelims on Friday. The freshman set a personal-best time of 11.42.
- Kylee Doherty placed fifth in the shot put on Friday afternoon. Her distance of 12.51 meters was best for the Eagles. Kayla Miotk finished 14th in the event with a distance of 11.41 meters. Keilley Riddle (8.10m) and Allison Foley (7.55m) also competed for the Eagles.
- A trio of Eagles competed in the weight throw. Doherty led the way with a distance of 11.35 meters to finish 26th. Mitok posted a personal-best throw of 10.97 meters. Riddle rounded out Edgewood College with a distance of 10.45 meters.
- Kerkman set a distance of 4.54 meters in the long jump. Her distance was good for 12th in the event.
