MADISON- Entering their final match in February, Men's Tennis looked to get back on the right track at the Powless Tennis Center. They took on the Wartburg Knights in non-conference action. The Knights (5-2) won a 4-3 nail biter over the Eagles (3-4)
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Wartburg took down Jon Olafsson/Marek Woytasik in no. 2 doubles 6-4 and Taite Thomas/Ethan Towne in no. 3 doubles 6-1 for the doubles point.
 
- Justin Hutchcroft and Andrew Hoffmann won a 7-6 (11-9) thriller in top doubles.
 
- Olafsson and Hutchcroft got Edgewood College on the right track in singles. Olafsson claimed a 6-4, 7-5 victory in the top slot and Hutchcroft a 6-4, 7-5 win in the second slot.
 
- After Hoffmann dropped a 7-5 (7-5), 6-0 final in third billing, Woytasik helped the Eagles regain the lead 3-2 with a 6-3, 6-2 tally in no. 4 singles.
 
- Thomas fell in 6-1, 6-4 fashion in the fifth slot as the Knights evened the match 3-3. Wartburg claimed victory with a 6-3, 6-2 result against William Faley in no. 6 singles.
 
UP NEXT
Men's Tennis will return to the courts in early March. They'll travel up to Neenah, Wis. on Sunday, March 2 for a pair of non-conference affairs. They'll take on UW-Stevens Point and Lawrence with first serve scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
