WINONA, MINN. – Women's Tennis continued their 2025 schedule with a road trip Friday. They faced off with the Saint Mary's Cardinals. The Eagles (13-2) battled valiantly but fell 5-2 against the Cardinals (7-0).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals claimed the doubles point with a 6-3 victory against
Evelyn Taylor and
Christina Ekkela in the second slot and a 6-0 final versus
Marissa Light and
Sarah Emory in third billing.

Hattie Plenty and
Madelyn Connaughty hung on for a 7-5 victory in no. 1 doubles.
- Taylor put together a 6-4, 6-4 final in top singles. Plenty dropped a 6-0, 6-4 final in second billing.
- Connaughty fell 6-1, 6-2 as Saint Mary's approached victory with a 3-1 advantage. Ekkela kept Edgewood College alive with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the fourth slot.
- Emory lost 6-1, 6-3 in fifth singles, while Light conceded a 6-0 final in the sixth slot

Women's Tennis will take some time off before returning to action in March. They'll battle with UW-Stevens Point and Lawrence on Sunday, March 2. First serve is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in Neenah, Wis.
