WINONA, MINN. – Men's Tennis continued non-conference action on the road Friday. They took on the Saint Mary's Cardinals. The Cardinals (6-3) rallied after dropping the doubles point for a 6-1 victory against the Eagles (3-3).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College had a strong showing in doubles.
Justin Hutchcroft and
Andrew Hoffmann earned a 6-2 victory in top billing, while
Marek Woytasik and
Jon Olafsson claimed a 6-3 win in the no. 2 slot.
- Saint Mary's won 6-0 over
William Faley and
Taite Thomas in third doubles.
- The Cardinals rallied in singles. Olafsson fell 6-0, 6-2 in no. 1 singles. Hutchcroft dropped a nailbiter in 0-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) fashion in the second slot
- Hoffmann lost a 6-5, 7-5 affair in third billing, while Woytasik conceded a 6-0, 6-2 final in the fourth slot.
- Thomas battled back in fifth singles before falling to a 6-0, 7-5 final.
Ethan Towne was defeated 6-1, 6-2 in no. 6 singles.

Men's Tennis will return home tomorrow to take on Wartburg in Madison, Wis. First serve at the Powless Tennis Center is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
