Eagles down Sabres in NACC victory

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's basketball team locked down their ninth conference victory of the season in a 68-58 final at Marian University on Wednesday. Kallie Norby and Vivian Guerrero led the Eagles attack in double-digit shooting in the road contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (13-9, 9-4 NACC) trailed Marian University (6-16, 4-9 NACC) 18-17 after the first quarter. Five-straight points from Kenzie Senffner, including a three-point make at the 6:04 mark gave the Eagles a 26-23 lead in the second quarter. The Eagles closed out the quarter on a 9-1 run to take a 37-26 advantage into halftime.

- Three point makes continued for Edgewood College in the third quarter, with Senffner finding the make from beyond the arc less than two minutes after the break. Taylor Wollin and Kallie Norby added three-point makes to help the Eagles to a 22-17 advantage in the third quarter. The Eagles would go up 59-43 after 30 minutes of action had been played.

- Edgewood College recorded a consistent rebounding effort on Wednesday night, pulling down a game-best 48. 16 of the Eagles rebounds came on the offensive side of the ball, aiding their 16 second chance points.

- Norby recorded a 19 point, 12 rebound double-double on the evening. Norby added three assists and one block in the victory.

- Vivian Guerrero posted 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds. The senior added two steals and a block.

- Senffner collected eight points, while Taylor Wollin added seven points of her own.

THE OPPOSITION
- Lyla Bartol posted 19 points, dished out four assists and pulled down four rebounds to pace Marian University.

- Kaylee Nowak added seven rebounds for the Sabres.

- Edgewood College will return home to host Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday. The Eagles will celebrate Senior Day & Jam the Gym with a 3:15 p.m. tip from the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
