Eagles fly past V-Hawks at the Edgedome

MADISON- Men's Volleyball returned to action at the Todd Wehr Edgedome Tuesday looking to get on the right track. They faced off with the Viterbo V-Hawks in a non-conference tilt. The Eagles (2-6) had one of their best offensive showings of the young season in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-21) sweep of the V-Hawks (1-8).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Four unanswered from Viterbo early had Edgewood College trailing 6-3, but the Eagles evened things out on a 5-2 reply. After Edgewood College trailed 10-8, they found another gear on offense with five kills and an ace boosting a 10-2 rally to flip momentum in their favor as they pushed to a 1-0 lead in the match.

- After starting off the second set ahead 5-2, the Eagles poured it on with a 7-2 burst to build a commanding 13-7 lead. A 5-2 rally late in the frame pulled the V-Hawks within 19-17. Edgewood College pushed the second frame in their favor with a 5-1 sprint.

- Three blocks in the early serves of the third set kept momentum squarely in the Eagles' favor as they built up a 15-7 advantage. Viterbo ground down the edge on a 12-6 stretch, closing within 22-20 late. Edgewood College closed the door on the set and match on a 3-1 run.
