KENOSHA, WIS. – Women's Basketball hit the road for more non-conference action Saturday. They squared off with the Carthage Firebirds. The Firebird (2-1) rolled to an 88-48 victory over the Eagles (0-2).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first five minutes were all Carthage as they rolled out to a 15-4 lead at the 4:20 mark. They would finish the first quarter ahead 24-14.
- The Firebirds put together 12 unanswered points in the second half of the second quarter to expand their lead to 50-21 heading into the locker room.
- The Carthage attack continued to be relentless in the third quarter, building up to a 63-28 lead with 6:11 left. Edgewood University found some momentum with seven in a row towards the end of the frame and trailed 68-39 heading into the final period.
- The Firebirds put the finishing touches on the impressive victory in the fourth, leading by as many as 40 points as they closed out the victory.
- Carthage shot 47.1 (33-of-70) from the field in a strong showing. The Eagles shot just 2-of-16 from beyond the arc and were outrebounded 45-to-29.
- Malia Green led the Firebirds with 21 points, including 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc.
- Four Carthage players grabbed six or more rebounds and three scored in double-digits.

Ella Hamacher posted a team-high 12 points for Edgewood University.

- Hamacher's 12 points were a personal best.

Edgewood University returns home to the Todd Wehr Edgedome for their first of back-to-back home games. They'll face off with the Judson Eagles on Monday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
