STEVENS POINT, WIS. – Men's Basketball continued its trek through nonconference play Saturday. They took on another challenging foe in the UW-Stevens Point Pointers. The Eagles (0-2) rode a hot hand beyond the arc in the first half, but the Pointers (3-0) rallied for an 86-75 final.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A trio of threes had Edgewood University ahead 13-5 at the 14:47 mark. While UW-Stevens Point hung around the next five minutes, 14 unanswered had the Eagles flying high ahead 34-15 with 7:18 left. The Pointers chipped away at the lead, a late three helping cut the edge down to 45-34 heading into the locker room.
- Edgewood University shot 8-of-16 from the three-point arc in the opening frame.
- UW-Stevens Point stymied the Eagles efforts to build on their lead in the opening minutes of the second half, eventually finding their moment to strike. Down 59-49 at 13:11, the Pointers rolled with a 13-3 burst to draw even at 62 points apiece with 10:35 remaining. While Edgewood University would keep on their heels, a 12-2 run pushed UW-Stevens Point ahead 82-70 with 3:02 left, a lead they would not relinquish.
- The Pointers had decisive advantages in points off of turnovers (25-to-13) and points in the paint (32-to-18). They also shot 60 (15-of-25) percent from the field in the second half.
- Josiah Butler played a key role in the UW-Stevens Point rally with a game-high 26 points. Four UW-Stevens Point shooters finished with double-digit points.
- Isaiah Moore and Seth Miron each tallied 11 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Moore added three blocks.

Matt Kirk recorded team-highs with 22 points, nine rebounds, and five assist.

Trent Tousana posted 17 points.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Kirk's nine rebounds were his personal best as an Eagle.
