DUBUQUE, IOWA. – Men's Basketball tipped off the 2025-26 season on the road Wednesday. They took on the Dubuque Spartans in nonconference action. The Spartans (2-0) used an explosive half to put away the Eagles (0-1) 86-62.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dubuque rolled in the first half, leading 31-2 with 7:40 remaining. They would head into the locker room ahead 45-18.
- The Spartans would lead by as much as 32 in the second half as they never let up against the Eagles, their advantage never shrinking lower than 21 points.
- Dubuque out rebounded Edgewood University 44-to-35. They shot 42.4 (25-of-59) percent from the field, while the Eagles shot 35.5 (22-of-62) percent from the field.
- Jacob Williams shined, tallying a game-high 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field and making 11 of 14 free throws.
- Grady Thompson also excelled with 18 points and eight rebounds.

Payton Bowser paced Edgewood University with 10 points.

Logan Steffensmeier recorded six rebounds, two blocked shots, and a steal.
Zane Willadsen posted six rebounds.

Jonah Anderson earned a team-high four assists.
